Guizhou Zun Titanium (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Zun Titanium Group), formerly Zunyi Titanium Plant, was founded in 1965. It is a key Third Front enterprise constructed to support the National "Project 09" with the factory code "Factory 906". The Group made vital contributions to the research and development of China’s "Two Bombs, One Satellite" program and was commended by the National Defense Science and Technology Commission.

In September 2019, as the sole representative of Guizhou’s industrial sector and one of the 150 "Firsts of New China", Zun Titanium Group was featured in the grand exhibition Great Achievements Through a Glorious Journey – Exhibition Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The enterprise was successively affiliated with the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, China National Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation, State Administration of Nonferrous Metals Industry, and China Rare Earth Group. In 2001, it became an enterprise under direct administration of Guizhou Province, falling under the supervision of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guizhou Provincial People’s Government (Guizhou SASAC).

Approved by Guizhou SASAC in April 2013, Zunyi Titanium Plant underwent overall restructuring into Guizhou Zun Titanium (Group) Co., Ltd., with Guizhou SASAC holding 100% equity. At the end of 2020, the enterprise transformed from a wholly-owned entity of Guizhou SASAC into a state-controlled company with seven shareholders.

Zun Titanium Group holds two controlling subsidiaries: Zunyi Titanium Industry Co., Ltd. and Zunyi Boyu Titanium Materials Co., Ltd., alongside a third-tier subsidiary Zunyi Jingjin Titanium Industry Co., Ltd.

Zun Titanium Group takes a leading position in China in terms of production capacity, technical equipment and product quality. It is principally engaged in the production, processing, sales, import and export of titanium sponge. Its core products include titanium sponge, metallic magnesium, titanium tetrachloride, titanium ingots and titanium processed products.

Currently, the Group boasts an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons of titanium sponge and 2,000 tons of titanium ingots and titanium processed products.

Nearly six decades of development have enabled the Group to own the only National Enterprise Technology Center in the titanium sponge industry, accredited by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance, General Administration of Customs and State Taxation Administration. It was awarded the title of National High-tech Industrial Demonstration Project by the National Development and Reform Commission.

The Group is a key civilian supporting enterprise for China’s military products. It has been accredited with the Guizhou Titanium Metallurgy and Products Engineering Technology Research Center (awarded by Guizhou Department of Science and Technology), Guizhou Industrial Design Center, Industry-University-Research Cooperation Demonstration Base and Technological Innovation Demonstration Enterprise (awarded by Guizhou Department of Industry and Information Technology). In addition, it is recognized as a National Intellectual Property Advantageous Enterprise by the National Intellectual Property Administration.

The flagship product Hangtian-brand Titanium Sponge has won numerous honors including the National Quality Silver Award, National Customer-Satisfied Product, Most Influential Brand – Top 100 Enterprises in China’s Peer Industry, Quality Tripod awarded by China Association for Quality, Guizhou Famous Brand Product, and the Gold Cup Award for Physical Quality Recognition of Nonferrous Metal Products. The Group has been repeatedly honored as an Advanced Enterprise in Quality Management by Guizhou Province.

Subsidiaries under Zun Titanium Group have established and obtained certification for quality management system and military standard quality management system in compliance with ISO and GJB standards. These systems govern product manufacturing, workplace environment, as well as occupational safety and health, so as to guarantee stable production processes and consistent product quality.

Zunyi Titanium Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Zun Titanium Group, serves as the lead drafting entity for national standards Titanium Sponge and Limit of Energy Consumption per Unit Product for Titanium Sponge and Titanium Ingots. It also participates in the formulation and revision of a host of national and industrial standards such as Methods for Chemical Analysis of Titanium Sponge, Titanium and Titanium Alloys, High-Titanium Slag and Titanium Tetrachloride. The Group enjoys dominant voice and advantageous standing in formulating and revising national and industrial standards related to titanium sponge.

As a key fundamental material for China’s military industry, aviation and aerospace sectors, Hangtian-brand Titanium Sponge has made tremendous contributions to China’s national economic development and national defense construction.
