Indian Steelmaker to Commission New Ladle Furnace in 2018
SMS group has won an order for a 130-ton twin ladle furnace of the Steel Authority of India Ltd., the mill equipment maker has announced. According to SMS, the furnace is destined for the steelmaker’s Bokaro Steel facility in the state of Jharkhand. The mill manufacturers sheet and plate.
SMS will handle the engineering, supply the equipment and oversee installation and commissioning. It will outfit the furnace with X-Pact electrical and automation packages, it said. Commissioning has been set for the summer of 2018.
